GOM3 News - April 2025

GOMsmart Webinar and Enhancements

First of all, for a large overview to access loads of GOM information with nothing more than a web browser (even a smartphone's browser), the next GOMsmart webinar will be held Thursday, May 8th at 1:00 PM CDT. This webinar will go over how the data is put together and processed and is a good way to check out parts of GOMsmart that you may not be currently using, including the 3D Field Viewer and GOM3 Analytics.

Register for the webinar here. Feel free to pass this along to colleagues in your office who may be new to GOMsmart.

There are two quick additions to highlight in GOMsmart, added by user requests, which form the most common additions to GOMsmart and GOM3. First, monthly injection volumes over time are now available for all wells that are injectors. This includes all of the different injection types specified by the ONRR. Clicking on a well in the Main tab or Main Map, then clicking on Downloads, will display an option for injection volumes, when available. A new report was added in the Wells section of the Custom Reports to display wells with injection volumes at some point in their production history.

Injections

Speaking of the Custom Reports, the second addition is an entirely new section to display newly released records for wells, APDs, planned sites, wells logs, paleo reports and wells coming off of the 26-month hold on data such as cores, directional surveys, etc. Previewing those reports will provide a link for each one to acces reports, downloads, etc.

ArcGIS Pro Versions
ArcGIS

Support for ArcGIS Pro versions below 3.2 is coming to an end. The link to the 2.x Add-in will remain available, but it will be by request only, after the next software update.

Support for ArcGIS Pro 3.2.x is also ending. Changes in requirements for higher versions of the .NET Framework are blocking continued development of Add-ins that use .NET Frameworks below 8.0. It is a requirement for ArcGIS Pro 3.3 and above. We will keep an active link to the Add-in for companies still using version 3.2, but updates and bug fixes are no longer available for us to develop, per Microsoft. We strongly encourage everyone to upgrade to version 3.3 or 3.4 to keep in line with Esri's recommendations.
